Marshalette R. Wise
Marshalette R. Wise is from Tuskegee, Alabama. She has a B.A. in English Language Arts Education from Tuskegee University, M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and a Minor in African Diaspora Studies from the University of Minnesota, and CELTA from the University of Cambridge – Teaching House NYC.
Marshalette is the founder of WISE Scholars Foundation, a nonprofit organization with the mission of assisting socioeconomically disadvantaged and at-risk youth with dropout prevention, school completion, and college attainment. She believes in “Preparing Today for Higher Education Tomorrow.”
She has established several sister companies to aid in this endeavor. Among them are: WISE Scholars Publishing, a literary publisher where “We Bring Life to Learning” and target students reading below grade level; WISE Scholars Mentors, a database of prior socioeconomically disadvantaged and at-risk individuals, who are now successful in careers, to serve as mentors for current at-risk students; and WISE Scholars Films, a film production company that highlights educational and community topics in an informative and creative way.
Marshalette Wise has experience as an elementary and secondary teacher in American public schools. She has also taught internationally at institutions and universities in South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
She is the author of Johnny's Birthday Surprise: Shh!! It's a secret!!, Bye-Bye Big Bully, and Much Hairdo About Nothing (Father-Daughter Dance).
